 Good Morning, All,

I’m headed to the school this morning to see what I shall see.
Yesterday, I attended my first church service on the Rez. Many of the song lyrics were familiar, but the tempo is very different. I noticed this the other night, as well. I was on the front stoop with the guitar, and one of the security guards came by. At first I thought he  might be coming by to tell me he had a noise complaint due to my singing, but no.  He is worship leader at the church where his mother is pastor. He played a few songs I know, and a few I hope to learn.

For those of you who are graciously planning to send packages, there is Fed Ex delivery here. I am not sure about UPS.

I am meeting new people daily. I met a few kids yesterday, and answered a bunch of their questions. Ty was surprised I have no tv. “What do you do?” he wondered. I read, write, and do handwork, I told him. He has informed me he would like a pillow of a monster truck. If any of you have patterns for such a thing, and you want to share it with me, please send it out. Or, go ahead and make the pillow!!!! I am not that familiar with monster trucks (Jess , I think maybe you and Mike can help me with this???).

At the moment, I am working on a set of curtains (made from one of my sheets) for the front window. Everyone in town knows my business, but I’d rather not feel like I’m on display.

The dogs seem to be adjusting. We walk around the compound twice a day, and occasionally will be going off the rez together. There is a cattle break across all streets leading out of the compound, which Nala refuses to cross. Mae does well, but she’s been practicing on the bridges at Sanderson Brook Falls, Cheshire, Mass.

I’ve attached a couple photos of the dogs who have adopted us. They live on Elm Drive. The small fuzzy one I call Sadie. She looks just like  ceramic dog my brother brought me from his 6th grade field trip to Washington, DC.
The other one I call Lady MacBeth – mostly due to her wraithlike appearance. The girl is too lean.  There are several of us working to fix that.

These and other dogs are available for adoption. If interested, let me know, and we’ll coordinate delivery, etc.

Take care,

Amy
