47 degrees Fahrenheit and sunny this afternoon.
Snow in the morning.
It’s been a long winter.
I am making decisions.
I like having money.
I have a dream, and it calls for more financial security than I’ve had.
Working as a substitute (teacher) has been very helpful in sorting out what I enjoy doing and what I do well. I need to consider my options. What comes to mind? Arizona … What about those beetles? You remember, don’t you? The one that flew into the car and landed on your right shoulder. Large. Personal.
What about those scorpions? The translucent one in the woodpile, and the dead one in the closet – in a town “too high” for scorpions. Right.
What if … ? If… If… If…
If I live. If I move.
For today, I live here. I study literature and grammar.
I write stories, poems, and homework essays.
I am enjoying what I am learning from other people, except …
I am tired of the negative, tired of wishing for gentleness, kindness, laughter, easiness.
It is so time for me to move on.
